Mission Statement

The Town of Neversink Parks and Recreation Department was established in December 2005.  The purpose of the Town of Neversink Parks and Recreation Department is to provide quality park, recreation, and public facilities for every resident of the Town of Neversink and entities engaged in agreements with the Town of Neversink, which includes the students of the Tri-Valley Central School District and the Town of Denning. The department strives to enhance the town’s natural beauty and coordinate recreation, leisure, and athletic activities that promote positive community values.  The Parks and Recreation Dept. is continuing to provide our youth with the programs that they have enjoyed in the past, and are also expanding programs and events for our adult population in the Town of Neversink. 

Jamie Brooks was appointed Director of the Parks and Recreation Department in January of 2006.  The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is lead by Chairman John DiMilia, Vice Chairman Samantha Conklin, Secretary Mark Plescia, Sally Bonnell and Julie Furman.  The Parks and Recreation Dept. meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall. 

Advisory Board Meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

June 29, July 27, August 31, September 28,
October 26,
November 30, December 28

All Meetings are held at 7 pm in Upstairs Meeting Room


Procedure to Attend Events

PLEASE do one of the following BEFORE the cut off date: MAIL permission slips & payment to Parks and Rec Dept PO BOX 307 Grahamsville, NY 12740 OR come & fill out permission slips & bring payment to the Town Hall Upstairs Parks & Recreation office between 3 pm & 6 pm on Tuesdays. The

PLEASE NOTE the following:

Permission Slips can be downloaded below or picked up at the Town Hall between 3 pm & 6 pm on Tuesdays.

Trips may be cancelled due to lack of number of sufficient participants (35) or inclement weather

Parks & Recreation Meetings are held the
Last TUESDAY of the month at 7 pm in the Town Hall.


Upcoming Events

 

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees vs.Toledo Mud Hens
WHEN: Thursday, July 15.
DETAILS: Leave the Town Hall at 9:30 am and return at approximately 6pm. Price includes lower level ticket, all-you-can eat hot dogs,hamburgers,chicken sandwiches and as much soda and water you can drink, a Yankees Cap, Game Program & Transportation. Check them out at www.swbyankees.com
SIGN-UP: If you plan to attend $20 residents/$35 non-residents must be paid no later than June 8.

 

Albi Concert & Ice Cream Luau
WHEN: Sunday, July 18.
WHERE: Outdoor Stage Town Hall Parking Lot 5-8 pm.
DETAILS: Rain or shine! Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
Hot dogs and soda will be available for $1. Remember to bring the kids because
there will be crafts!

 

Zoom Flume
WHEN: Saturday, August 7.
WHERE: Waterpark East Durham, NY
DETAILS: The school bus will leave the Town Hall at 8 am and return at approximately 6pm. Please bring money for the snack bar as no food will be provided. Save your seats now, spots go FAST!
SIGN-UP: If you plan to attend $10 residents/$34 non-residents must be signed up no later than June 8.

 

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
WHEN: Saturday, September 18.
DETAILS: Leave the Town Hall at 8 am and return at approximately 6pm. Price includes admission and motor coach transportation.
SIGN-UP: If you plan to attend $52 per person must be paid no later than June 8.

 

Fall Sightseeing Cruise
WHEN: Tuesday, October 5.
DETAILS: Leave Town Hall 11:30 am. We will car pool for this event and have lunch in Kingston near Rondout Landing. Please bring additional money the day of the event for your lunch. SIGN-UP: If you plan to attend $14 per person must be paid no later than September 7.

 

Paint Your Own Pottery
WHEN: Saturday, October 16.
DETAILS: Town Hall 10 am. Choose a holiday keepsake to paint that will be fired in Kiln and picked up at a later date at the Town Hall. Carol Eck will be on hand to help make this a memorable event. All supplies will be provided. SIGN-UP: If you plan to attend $10 per person must be paid no later than July 27.

 

Shopping
WHEN: Tuesday, November 16.
DETAILS: Leave Town Hall 8 am and return approximately 6 pm. Visit Colonie Center, this 1.3 million square feet shopping center in Albany with over 100 stores including Macy’s Boscov’s, Christmas Tree Shop, LL Bean,just to name a few. Get your holiday shopping started now!SIGN-UP: If you plan to attend $20 per person must be paid no later than October 12.

 

Games & Socializing
Every Friday afternoon between 1pm and 4 pm in the upstairs meeting room in the Town Hall.
If you have a favorite game, feel free to bring it.
Come & Enjoy your neighbors and make new friends.
Refreshments will be served.
